Part of its data platform, the Winnipeg Metropolitan Region's data site is intended to provide relevant data and information for decision-making and understanding our region, bridging a gap between municipal and provincial levels. The work of the Winnipeg Metropolitan Region involves the use of regional-level data and information that can benefit others when making decisions in the region or to simply learn more about it. Over time this site will provide a variety of resources, including regional reports, tables, and geospatial data that are openly accessible. This site is built with CKAN, the world’s leading open-source data portal platform. CKAN is used by governments and user groups worldwide and powers a variety of official and community data portals including portals for local, national and international government, such as the UK’s data.gov.uk
